Face to face with Giovanni Belluscio

What is your background in the field of regional and minority languages/education/multilingualism?

As a researcher in the field of Italo-Albanian minority language, I have been working during the last twenty years in collecting and studying the Italo-Albanian dialectal varieties from different points of view (phonetics, history, grouping, lexicology etc.). Many results have been shared in different teacher's formation courses. For five years I have been also a component of the Regional Committee for minority language programme of Calabria (COREMIL).

What do you think is the major challenge in your field of work?

The major challenge in my field of work is to promote the awareness of schools, administrations and families of the importance of the everyday use of minority language in every context and in giving examples of usage and ideas for future projects.

What is one of the hottest new projects / items you are working on?

Monitoring and sharing the implementation of new projects, editions, school education and formation.

Are there any important references such as articles, links, etc. you would like to mention?
